British Cheese Week Marked By Launch Of New Website
Coinciding with British Cheese Week, the British Cheese Board is unveiling its new website which has been developed by leading Westcountry digital communications and web design agency, Iconography Ltd, based in South Somerset.
Award winning (1) agency Iconography was selected to design and build this extensive new site based on its previous experience in creating innovative solutions for companies and organisations looking for something out of the ordinary.
The new site, to be found at www.britishcheese.com, carries a wealth of information for the cheese lover as well as health and dietary information for parents, children and teachers. There are over 30 recipes to be found on the site covering the creative use of a variety of cheeses in hot and cold dishes, salads and sweets as well as starters, soups and snacks. The site also includes teaching resource materials suitable for Key Stage 2 children. Three education packs include ones for science, design & technology and geography.
Liberally supplied with mouth watering images of many of the 700 varieties of British cheese available, the many sections in this 'something for everyone' website are easy to navigate and are a packed with useful information and advice about one of our nation's favourite foods.
Nigel White, Chairman of the British Cheese Board, expressing his satisfaction said, "We are very pleased with the way our new website has taken shape and, in particular, the overall look and feel which has resulted from a fresh approach to the design adopted on our behalf by Iconography. We expect the site to be used increasingly widely by those who are in positions of influence and who can now access the site for a wide range of nutritional, educational and health facts and figures which will further enhance the place of British cheeses in our national cuisine".
Commenting on the launch of the site on 28th October, Ray Buckler, Iconography's Creative Director said, "This has been a stimulating site to work on and has provided us with scope to develop a site which is both graphically pleasing, resource rich and user friendly. Cheese, as Wallace and Gromit are reminding us again in their latest capers, is a highly versatile and universally liked nutritional food. Over 98% of the UK population eats cheese, collectively consuming around 545,000 (2) tonnes a year so we are delighted to be supporting the British Cheese Board in helping more people make informed choices about the cheeses they eat".
