Life after Powerpoint event a big success for Iconography
Iconography, one of the South West’s leading digital communications agencies and Mendip Media, web video and webcasting specialists, attracted an audience of over 40 senior managers and marketing professionals to a digital communications event at Taunton’s Somerset College of Arts & Technology’s Enterprise Centre in Taunton last week.
Ray Buckler, Iconography’s Creative Director, demonstrated a presentation tool which has been developed by Iconography for companies and organisations which need to go beyond the capabilities of PowerPoint in their presentations. IVOR (Interactive Variable Object Resource) is a tool originally developed for the US-owned footwear multinational Timberland in the UK and now adopted throughout its global operations. The content rich programme allows easy and quick bespoking of sales training, new product launches and sales presentations to suit individual customer needs and employs a simple, yet highly effective, drag and drop method to add or take away content. Central control over content, corporate image and branding allows a consistency of approach not possible with conventional presentational tools and yet allows individual presenters to use a wealth of text, still images, video and sound to suit local conditions. The database of resource from which to select can also include a variety of language options.
IVOR has already been adopted for use by a number of multinational and national companies and was used successfully by Somerset Strategic Partnership at the 2005 CBI Conference in London to help promote Somerset as a prime business location for inward investment.
Commenting on the event, Ray Buckler said, “I was delighted with the interest shown from a varied audience and, from the requests for more information, surprised to meet the number of companies for whom traditional presentational tools are proving inadequate for their purposes”. He added, “With the level of competition for new business greater than it has ever been, companies are looking for an edge when it comes to showing prospects their products or services in a new and fresh way and one which reflects their innovative attitude to market development”.
