Google have been focusing more and more on user experience to go along with the standard algorithm. From May 2021, the importance of this approach will grow exponentially.
How confident are you feeling about your website? Over recent years, Google has proven again and again that they have the power to influence web design. They've been 'mobile first' for a while, and value 'time on page' and 'bounce rates' right alongside 'key words'. Your website needs to reflect Google's current priorities.
With the switch to digitisation and the massive rise in eCommerce, it's more important than ever to have a website that works with Google's algorithms, and not against them.
Our core platform is built and designed for the modern online retailer, with one eye on search engine algorithms. We're dedicated to our clients' success.
XTRO eCommerce is an enterprise level online platform built for the modern retailer.
It represents years of effort, refinement, and improvement – and offers a wealth of features and functions and provides the flexibility, personalisation, intelligent merchandising, time saving workflow automation and conversion rate optimisation tools that those in the know expect as standard.
The new page experience signals combine Core Web Vitals with our existing search signals including mobile-friendliness, safe-browsing, HTTPS-security, and intrusive interstitial guidelines.
We're already aware of a lot of important ranking signals coming from Google, and the traditional ones are already all important:
The new update promises to build on these blocks and add a lot more, with a focus on Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay and Visual Stability. All of this is a refinement of their earlier principles, but they have some crucial differences.
A current site might load quickly overall, but if the 'Click to submit your credit card' button is the last thing to load, the First Input Delay will be too long. Likewise, a page that loads like a well-polished cinematic experience will now be ranked above one that loads in a haphazard, disjointed manner thanks to Visual Stability.
Fortunately for our clients, at Iconography, we're paying close attention to all of these changes. Not only are we already immensely proud of our XTRO eCommerce solution, but we are already working to take Google's latest changes into account.
No matter what, our clients are in good hands.
